PILOT MAGAZINE

Pilot magazine’s Dave Unwin and Keith Wilson visited Alpi Aviation UK HQ in Earls Colne earlier this month for a flight test feature that should be on the publication’s front cover by the end of the year.

Dave took our Pioneer 300 Hawk up with Alpi Aviation UK MD Steve Allen while Keith, one of the world’s best aviation photographers, followed in a Cessna 172 with our test flight pilot Nigel Willson.

Speaking about the Pioneer flight test, Dave said: “We had a great day with photographer Keith Wilson down at Earls Colne with the boys from Alpi and Cavendish Aviation.

“I very much enjoyed flight-testing the Alpi Pioneer 300 with Steve Allen so look out for a full flight test report in Pilot magazine soon.

“The latest model is the best one yet and Steve has made a great plane even greater. It looks brilliant and flies even better than it looks!”

Keith added: “It is often said that if an aircraft looks right, then it flies right!

“The Pioneer 300 with its clear Frati-like design features certainly looks right and it was an absolute pleasure to photograph the brand-new example, G-OALP, over the Essex coastline for a forthcoming flight test feature in Pilot magazine!"

As well as photography, Keith is a renowned aviation author and you can check out his back catalogue of books on Amazon. The latest celebrates 100 years of the RAF in pictures and is available online by clicking here.
